How To Take Care of Your Eyes All By Yourself

Few days back, after getting up in the morning, I experienced a burning sensation in my eyes. No amount of water splattering could solve the problem. In fact the problem increased with the passage of time. I was left with no option but to visit my eye doctor.
I knew I was in for a good amount of lecture, after all, I don’t remember the last time I visited him. My eye doctor insists that one should opt for eye check up every 3 months (which I hardly do). After bracing myself up, I visited him. One look and he started his lecture. To cut a long story short, I was diagnosed with eye irritation which had gone worse due to poor eye cleaning. The doctor advised me steps that will help me clean my eyes in the proper way. My eyes have recovered a lot but I thought of sharing with you how to take care of your eyes through proper cleaning techniques:
  • Blinking of the eyes is very effective. When we blink our eyes the lashes and the lids allow the water in the eye to move the dirt away. As such it is easy to get rid of the dirt.
  • If blinking does not help. You need to intervene. But, before you touch your eyes, don’t forget to wash your hands. Our hands have high numbers of infections. So make sure that you wash your hands thoroughly before you rub your eyes.
  • When you have dirt in your eyes, it is natural that your eyes will produce excess water. Use a clean tissue paper to dab away the excess water.
  • If the dirt still persists, you need to inspect the eyes. Pull the lower eyelid down and search for the dirt. In case you are finding it difficult to open the lower eyelid, ask any of your family members to do the needful.
  • Once the dirt is out, you will still experience discomfort. To get rid of the uneasiness you need to follow some precautionary measures. Wear sunglass as much as you can, especially when you step out of your office. Avoid wearing prescribed contact lenses and do not touch your eyes frequently.
  • In case you still feel the scratchiness, you need to consult an eye doctor.
Eye care treatments have improved a lot. Optometry software’s have come a long way since their inception. Many optometrists nowadays use optometry software in order to prescribe the eye ailments. So no matter whatever the eye ailment there is nothing to worry about. You can be rest assured that they are going to use the to test your eye.
After what I went through, I will suggest that you visit your optometrist today. They are absolutely right when they say that you need to go for an eye every 3 months. Getting your eye checked is no longer a big issue. Give a call to your optometrist today.
